NEW TEACHERS - PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT in the VISUAL ARTS

Are you a teacher in your first three years of teaching?  Or an experienced teacher who has recently been given a teaching assignment which includes ART?  Interested in attending a professional development workshop which would help you teach VISUAL ART?

Any MAAE member who is their first three years of teaching art (in a K - 12 school) is eligible to apply to receive coverage of the cost of a professional development opportunity in Winnipeg!  We are able to fund up to 30 teachers' workshop fees per year!

Applicants, please note the following:

  • At this time, MAAE New Teacher PD Funds are available for ArtsJunktion Workshops only.
  • The MAAE will fund up to five new teachers’ fees, per workshop.
  • Applications will be accepted up until 7 days prior to the workshop date. This is required in order for the MAAE to review the application, and arrange payment with Artsjunktion.
  • All applications are dependent on the space available.
  • Priority will go to new teachers who have not attended an ArtsJunktion workshop under the assistance of the MAAE; however, teachers applying for additional workshop assistance will still be given consideration.
  • If you are approved for funding, the MAAE will cover the cost of the ArtsJunktion workshop; however, it is the responsibility of your school, or school division, to cover the cost for your substitute teacher (if one is required).
  • If you have other questions, please contact us!
